Hugh Robertson writes to Chief Executive of Post Office about loss of Wormshill Post Bus Service

Hugh Robertson, the MP for Faversham and Mid Kent, in whose constituency Wormshill is situated, has written directly to Adam Crozier, the Chief Executive of The Post Office, asking him to reconsider his decision to cancel the Wormshill Post Bus Service.

He has also asked Mr Crozier to come down to Kent and meet some of those affected.

Last week, over 70 people attended a meeting to protest against the loss. The post bus is the only public transport passing through Wormshill, Milstead and Frinsted and its cancellation would leave a number of people completely isolated.

Hugh Robertson said, “The Post Office cancelled the bus on the grounds that so few people use it. However, the fact that over 70 people turned up to the meeting demonstrates a considerable commitment by the local community.

I very much hope that The Post Office will reconsider their decision. This is a vital rural service and its loss would hit a particularly vulnerable group of local people hard”.
