Robertson: EU shouldn't have any remit over our Premier League

Hugh welcomes the plans to abandon a EU sports regulator but believes the fight is not over.

Responding to the EU Sports Ministers meeting in Biarritz today where plans for an EU sports regulator were abandoned, Shadow Sports Minister, Hugh Robertson said:

“Whilst it is good news that plans for an EU sports regulator have been abandoned for the moment, the devil will be in the detail. The simple fact remains that sport should remain a national responsibility and not one over which the EU should have any remit.”
