Selling village could be in line for a Kent County Council grant to improve their broadband reception.
Selling village, which suffers from poor broadband reception, could be in line for a £50,000 grant from Kent County Council following a meeting in the village hall last Friday. The grant comes from a KCC allocation to help rural villages get internet connection and follows approaches to the council made by Hugh Robertson and Cllr Andrew Bowles.
Hugh Robertson said, “Kent County Council confirmed that Selling is eligible for a £50,000 grant which would speed up their broadband connection. The parish council can then instruct a commercial firm to do the necessary work to bring connections up to speed.
The large turnout in the village hall was testimony to the strength of feeling about this issue and it is very good news for Selling”.
