Robertson: Drug testing agency could have been operational three years ago

Hugh welcomes the creation of an independent drug testing agency albeit three years late.

Commenting on plans for a new National Anti-Doping Organisation announced today, Shadow Sports Minister, Hugh Robertson said:

“Conservatives wholeheartedly welcome the creation of an independent drug testing agency. It is something we advocated at the 2005 General Election when it was opposed by the Government. This new agency should have been operational three years ago.

“It is now regrettable that the Government’s lack of organisation has meant the original launch date of this April will not be delivered.”
