Hugh Robertson condemns cricket atrocity in Pakistan

Hugh Robertson, the MP for Faversham and Mid Kent and Shadow Sports and Olympics Minister, today expressed his shock at the attack by militants on the Sri Lankan Cricket Team that injured the former Kent cricketer Paul Farbrace.

In addition to his Shadow Sports role, Hugh is a playing member of the MCC and was the England and Wales Cricket Board’s first Parliamentary Sports Fellow in 2006.

Hugh Robertson said, “My first thoughts are with the policemen who lost their lives, all those who were injured and, of course, Paul Farbrace. This is a dreadful atrocity made all the worse by the fact that the target was a group of cricketers who were doing everything possible to normalise relations between Pakistan and the outside world”.
