Hugh Robertson, the MP for Faversham, has said that he is encouraged by progress over speeding issues at the junction inbetween Salters Lane and the A2 in Faversham.
Hugh Robertson got involved following a meeting with local residents led by Mrs Angela Martin.
In a reply to the MP, Swale Borough Council have suggested three possible solutions. The first is an interactive speeding sign which will be included in the 2010/11 works programme. The second is police enforcement and the third is a series of parking restrictions with alternative spaces being provided elsewhere – such as the football ground.
Hugh Robertson said, “I am encouraged by both the promise of an interactive speeding sign and the prospect of further police patrols. I suspect the parking restrictions may be a less popular option because of security issues at the alternative locations and the lack of convenience for local residents.”
