HUGH ROBERTSON VISITS LYNSTED AND NORTON PRIMARY SCHOOL
Hugh Robertson was at Lynsted and Norton Primary School on Friday as part of his ongoing programme of visiting primary schools in his constituency. During his visit the MP had a meeting with Head Teacher, Mrs Carol Wakelin, and was shown around the schools by two pupils, Oliver Marshall and Emily Timcke.
He was then part of a panel judging a project done by the senior class on an imaginary by-pass scheme around the village. The class provided groups representing people who lived in the village, people who lived outside the village, local businesses, environmental groups and the village school. The result was a split decision with Hugh backing the conservationists.
Hugh said: “I very much enjoyed my visit to Lynsted and Norton Primary School and I was extremely impressed with everything I saw.
“It was particular fun being part of the panel judging the by-pass project and the fascinating thing was that the pupils’ points of view absolutely mirrored the sort of letters I would expect to get in my post bag.
“It was great fun and they clearly worked very hard.”
