Hugh Robertson will be at Macknade Cricket Club in Faversham on Saturday, as part of Nat West's cricket week-end, to publicise the club's development plans now backed by The England and Wales Cricket Board.
Macknade, who have been included by the England and Wales Cricket Board as one of their key development clubs, approached the MP last year for help. He set up a meeting with The Duchy of Cornwall, who are the landlords, the England and Wales Cricket Board and Kent County Cricket Club to help the Club develop its facilities for the benefit of local people.
HR said, “I am delighted to be supporting Macknade Cricket Club not least because it brings together my two roles as a local MP and my national job as Shadow Sports and Olympics Spokesman.
We hope to create a fantastic new cricket facility in Faversham with particular emphasis on young people and I am delighted that Macknade has been singled out in this way”.
