Robertson: Chambers decision upholds Olympics' spirit

Hugh welcomes the decision on Dwain Chambers.

Commenting on the news that the High Court has ruled that Dwain Chambers will not compete in the Beijing Olympics, Shadow Olympics Minister, Hugh Robertson said:

“Any British athlete taking drugs knows the consequences of their actions, so I welcome today's High Court verdict.

“However, given that doping is the single greatest threat to the integrity of the Olympic Games, it is now vital that the relevant world governing bodies put measures in place to ensure that the same rules apply to all athletes worldwide.”
