Hugh asks who is calling the shots at the Olympics.

Hugh Robertson, Shadow Olympics Minister has commented today on the threat posed by the latest Olympics crisis. Hugh said

"A terrible week for Tony Blair just got worse. With continuing chaos at the heart of government, we urgently need to know who is calling the shots over the Olympics - is it Tessa jowell, the Mayor, John Prescott or the London Development Agency?

"At a time when the Mayor and the LDA are using such heavy handed powers, should we really be handing them such massive powers, as the government intends?

"The use of a Compulsory Purchase Order in this way could add millions of pounds to the cost of staging the games, money that ultimately Council Taxpayers in London will have to pay. Is that why the Government is refusing to agree to a cap on council tax bills?

"Why have Tessa Jowell, Ken Livingstone and the LDA covered up this crisis when appearing before the House of Commons Select Committee on this very issue in the past two weeks?"
