Hugh sends tribute to Brian Luckhurst

PARLIAMENTARY MOTION MARKS CONTRIBUTION OF BRIAN LUCKHURST TO KENT CRICKET

Hugh Robertson, the Shadow Sports Minister and Kent MP, has tabled a Parliamentary Early Day Motion paying tribute to Kent County Cricket Club President Brian Luckhurst who died this week. The Conservative Leader and Folkestone MP, Michael Howard was the lead signatory on the motion which said:

That this House notes with deep regret the untimely death of Brian Luckhurst during his term as President of Kent County Cricket Club; pays tribute to his wholly unique record of service to the County Club over 50 years in every position from young trainee to President and to his record for England; and hopes that his example will act as an inspiration to young people across Kent to take up the game.

Hugh Robertson Commented: “Given Brian Luckhurst’s wholly unique record of service to Kent County Cricket Club over 50 years, it seemed appropriate to mark his contribution in this way. Our thoughts are very much with his wife and family at this time.”
