Hugh Robertson, the MP for Faversham and Mid Kent and the Shadow Sports and Olympics Spokesman, has today been given a completely clean bill of health by the Inquiry into every MP's expenses headed by Sir Thomas Legg.
The Inquiry involved a team of accountants, from PriceWaterhouse Coopers, going through every aspect of each MP’s expenses for the past four years and has found that all Hugh Robertson’s claims were completely above board.
Hugh was not required to make any repayments, even under the new and retrospective guidelines introduced by Sir Thomas Legg, nor was he asked to produce any further supporting documents. It is the third inquiry, following The Daily Telegraph and the internal Conservative Party inquiry, which has scrutinised the MP’s expenses.
Hugh said, “I am obviously pleased, and relieved, that the official Parliamentary Inquiry has found that all my expenses are in order. Given the events of recent months, it is important that my constituents have this reassurance in front of a likely General Election.”
