Hugh Robertson presents prizes at first Abbey School Prize Giving for 14 years

Hugh Robertson, the MP for Faversham, presented the prizes at The Abbey School's Prize Giving last Wednesday. It was the first formal prize giving ceremony at the school for 14 years.

Before the ceremony, and during the break, the audience were entertained by the School band. During his address, Hugh spoke about the fact that every child has some particular talent and that it is important to find it and use it to good effect.

Hugh Robertson said, “It was a huge honour to be asked to present the prizes at The Abbey School’s first prize giving for 14 years. The evening celebrated the success of pupils throughout the school in a huge variety of different areas.

I have always believed that every child has some particular talent and that it is the job of a good school to identify and nurture that skill. Wednesday’s prize giving proved this in abundance and it was a very happy and successful evening.”
