Brown's political stunt may have harmed our World Cup bid chances

Fifa president Sepp Blatter has raised serious doubts over England's hopes of staging the World Cup in 2018

Commenting on the news that Fifa president Sepp Blatter has raised serious doubts over England's hopes of staging the World Cup in 2018, Shadow Sports Minister, Hugh Robertson said,

“Sepp Blatter's reported remarks today show the utter folly of Gordon Brown using the 2018 World Cup bid for his own personal purposes. The Football Association must be left alone to do the preparatory work before seeking cross party political support at the appropriate time. Brown's silly political stunt may have harmed our chances.”
